Yeah, she's ridiculously beautiful. She is also an amazing basketball player and this past weekend her team won the State Championship!

One thing about me: I am not athletic, nor am I into sports. I think they are great.... just not really for me. I don't play and I don't watch; sports just aren't my thing. However, I am a HUGE fan of Maddie. So I go to her games and I cheer and I yell and I totally embarrass her. BUT..... it's just because I am SO proud. And not just because she is a state champ, but because of all the hard work and dedication she has put into basketball. I'm proud because she went to all the practices and open gyms, and worked for hours to improve her talent. I'm proud because she kept her grades up while spending hours everyday on the court. But most of all I'm proud because of all the ways she has grown, on and off the court. Maddie is so loving, and kind, and considerate. She is smart and beautiful and spiritual and unbelievably talented, and I look up to her in so many ways (not just because she is 6'1") After so many years of working to be the best, I am so proud that she took state. But I am more proud of the amazing person she has become.

I am officially a horrible blogger. And I don't even have an excuse. I'm not too busy, I have done A LOT of fun stuff lately, my computer is functioning, I remember how to type, etc.... I'm just a failure. So, here's what I've been up to lately that I could have blogged about but haven't:
- Mini-Olympics with Rochelle, Harriet & Scott, Jeff, and some of his friends
- Maddie's Senior Night Basketball game (which they won) and her first game in the State Championship (which they also won!)
- Doing puzzles and watching musicals (My poor roommates have to put up with this on a daily basis)
- Spoon it Up! with Rochelle, Chris, Lauren, Jessica, and Megan
- Sleepover with Ally and Emily
- Making posters with Jamie
- My mom having (minor) surgery (She is HILARIOUS on painkillers)
- Richie hit his one year mark on February 2!!!!!!!
- Watching "Breaking Dawn" with my father...... SO AWKWARD!
- Shopping with Rachel
- Getting a surprise carton of orange juice (which I originally thought was from Sam, but now I'm pretty sure it was from Brittany, Carolyn, Sarah, and Stephanie)
- "Galentines Day" Party with Rochelle, Lauren, Lindsey, Jessica, and Becca. We had a super good dinner, courtesy of Rochelle and Lauren, and then we made creepy Valentines. Everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime (also you should do it with Lauren: she is terrifyingly good at it)
- Playing 'Bigger or Better' for FHE
And some other stuff.
Hopefully I will get better with this whole blogging thing..... I guess we'll see.
I'm working on a project and I need some help.... if you could comment and leave a list of five qualities or characteristics that describe me that would be great! Thanks in advance.
Just in case you were wondering..... I am a big nerd. Yes, I realize my last post was about how I am a gangster, and even though I still believe I am more gangster than Rochelle, I am also a bigger nerd. A MUCH bigger nerd. And this weekend (because I am a nerd) I went on a trip to Idaho to see a Barbershop concert.... and here's how it went:
My dad, my uncle Brian, my Aunt Julie, my sisters Rochelle and Carly and I drove up to Rexburg on Friday night to go see a quartet called Crossroads. We are all really big fans, so when we heard they were coming to BYU Idaho we had our good family friend Dale get us tickets.
Dad, Brian, and Dale
Dale and his wife Val are professors at BYU-Idaho, but along with that, they raise horses at their home. So whenever we go up to visit we get to go horseback riding, which is always a lot fun, but also a big pain in the butt... literally.

Saturday night we went to the BYU-Idaho Barbershop Festival Extravaganza, and it was great! A whole bunch of quartets made up of students sang before Crossroads and they were all surprisingly talented. Barbershop-style music isn't the easiest to perform, so it's even more impressive when you sound good.
These boys were all Sophomores in high school....
and I thought they were adorable.
I grew up listening to Barbershop and going to concerts and shows and so I know quite a bit about it. But even if you know nothing about Barbershop music, I would suggest listening to Crossroads. They are extremely talented and they are one of my favorites. (And yes I realize it's super nerdy to have favorite Barbershop quartets.... but I still love them)
Here are a couple of their songs. So good!
Overall it was a really nice weekend. It was fun to be able to spend some time with my family, see my good friends, and get to hear some really great music. Even if it is a little (or a lot) nerdy :)
P.S. This is my dad, my uncles Brian and Duane, and my grandpa singing in their quartet "The Dowd Crowd"
And here is a video of me, Rochelle, our friend Brad, and my dad singing for my uncle Brian's wedding. Don't judge me too harshly........ :)
So tonight Rochelle and I had a little disagreement..... over who is more gangster. I know what you're thinking.... OBVIOUSLY I am and Rochelle is in denial if she thinks she is, but after discussing it for a little bit she pulls this out like it's evidence of her being a super bad gangster:
While this picture is super gangster I still think I win.... Let's compare:
Rochelle as a kid being goofy..... and me being super gangster.
Rochelle's go to picture pose..... my go to picture pose (aka gangster)
Rochelle dressing up............... and me dressing up.
(as a sidenote, Maddie is more gangster than either of us)
Rochelle with her friends.........................me with my friends (granted they aren't very gangster here).
Rochelle as a freshman.............................me as a freshman.
Rochelle and Grandpa being gangsters... Me and Grandma being gangsters
I could go on and on.... but I feel like my point is made.
